walking in the rain

Hopping on a train in the rain was quite exciting for myself and Sweet pea. Especially as we were heading on the train to Cornwall to visit Nanny and Gramps...The skies were very dark with heavy rain clouds.

A lovely, warming log burner greeted us and a roast was in the oven filling my Mother's cottage with the most wonderful of smells...

I always enjoy a country walk...and it was good to burn off some of our filled bellies!.

It has rained all week end...But everything looked so beautiful in the country...lush, green and pretty.

We braved the rain and enjoyed being in my Mother's cottage garden...Sweet pea playing cafe's in the Gypsy caravan with her dolly's and niece Rosie.

While they were happy playing I wondered around the garden chatting with my Mother and Twinny.

There's always lots to look at and Spring flowers blooming.

We walked back down the country lanes to the train station and took the train home before it became too dark...

It was good to be in the country with my family.

Tea with Mr Paddington

I didn't get wet on the school run- Though the clouds were very dark...it didn't rain!- Yay!.

The sunshine is out as I speak...filling the kitchen with glorious light.

On another 'hugely' positive note- I have new neighbour's and they are friendly, quiet , descent folk.

I was so glad to see the back of the other's- the whole road had been disrupted by their noise pollution, fighting and general waste being left - It had caused me deep depression and I had been feeling like moving.

I live on a happy, quiet road and I'd like it to stay that way...at least now I can have a proper nights sleep.

Its funny how one family can disrupt a whole roads peace...But, all is at peace now for the time being and long may it last.

I went for a layered look today fashion wise...I love layering dresses and floaty tops.

Adding pretty coloured florals brightens my day.

Well, I hope you're all having a hoppity, happy day?

Elfing about...

My wordy the weather's been rather mad hasn't it?...Myself and sweet pea were caught up in a very wet thunderstorm on the school run...I don't like climbing hills in thunderstorms.  As a child I was so scared of thunderstorms I'd hide under the stairs crying...I don't want Sweet pea to be afraid though and luckily she see's them as exciting crashes of clouds...Despite the rain I walked to the city on a power walk.

By the time I reached the city the sun came out!...It was blissful.

These little vintage elf's came home with me from the charity shop...

The park was so pretty in the sunlight...

The last of the water logged Bluebells...

I had a mummy friend over for a coffee and she brought with her a little posy of flowers...so sweet.

Last night I made a lovely, delicious vegetable pasta bake with Quorn (instead of chicken)...

It was really yummy-icious!...

I hope you are all getting some glimpses of sunny light?...we seem to have been quite lucky here in Devon with some heavenly skies in between stormy down pours.

Made with love...

My Twinny surprised me with something so special that I just couldn't wait to share it with you...

My beautiful hand knitted cardigan made with love and precious time by my dearest, sweetest Twinny!.

I love blue!-I love polka dots!- I love red!!!!...Its just soooo beautiful!!!!...Its so perfectly my style!...How happy it makes me feel when I'm wearing it!- like a hoppy , happy Rabbit!.  Just a few loose wool ends need knotting and its perfectly finished! ;0).   I    L*O*V*E    IT!!!! .

I have also come home with some lovely vintage chairs from the charity shop...I've already put one coat of white paint on them and will do the second coat on Sunday...

Its been a very jolly Saturday...

Some days are like blessings from above...

Despite the hail, the rain the gusty skies...Its been sunny in between.

I loved this blue and white plate and dish set also in the charity shop and for 75p!.

April Showers!

Well, my lovelies...The sunshine that seemed so blissful on Tuesday soon turned to hail and rain showers...I was in a false sense of security wearing my vintage summer dress!...Its been gusting a gale out there today too.  So was quite literally soaked through to my undies on the school run with rain coming at me like a hammer from all angles.  When Myself and Sweet pea reached the top of the hill for her school we were almost blown back down it. So that Vintage summer dress is firmly back in the wardrobe!. Its now April showers!- I guess that's how it should be for this time of the month and with all this talk of droughts and hose pipe bans it does make me laugh a little...Because most of our summer's have been wet ones!...

So now its all about cosy comforts again...I sure cant wait to be under my duvet -As snug as a bug in a rug!.

Myself and Sweet pea made cakey's after school.  Smarties and icing to decorate- The little flowers are not edible! I just added them to take pics!- As I thought they looked pretty like that.

The Rabbit hook was for Sweet pea from my Twinny at Easter...I remembered it was still in the gift bag.

I'll have to find a place in Sweet pea's bedroom to hang it.

I have been making some comforting foods and loved my weekly buy of veggies at the Market. So much cheaper and they are grown locally. On these cold evenings its nice to have a good hot meal.

When I was in Cawsand's I took this lovely image and I had forgot to share it. Wish this was my view from my kitchen window- Its just heavenly to watch the waves roll in.

And some daff's I took a picture of a few week's back. I just love bright and cheery images!.
